EL PORTET   There are a total of 4 beautiful beaches within the area of Moraira. El Portet pictured here on the left is a wonderfully child friendly, horse shoe shaped bay. You can wade out for ages and still the sea remains quite shallow. Located close by to the marina and Club Nautico.

On the sea front you'll find Moraira Castle in the summer you may catch a wedding or 2.

MORAIRA BEACH  The main beach pictured here on the right is Platgetes Beach. Supervised by our lifeguards all summer, and benefiting from a lovely beach bar, a fabulous play area for the kids and a net for volleyball & badminton.

2 seconds from the beach is the ice cream shop and in the evenings there's a street market.

LES BASETES DIVE CENTRE is the ideal place for diving, water sports and relaxing.        The secluded bay is perfect for swimming and snorkelling with the family. Outside is a seating area for resting before and after dives and hot showers, with a beach bar next door and restaurant upstairs, this is an ideal place for the whole family.

WINE TASTING   This quant little vineyard is set within the campo of the traditional Spanish town of Murla. You'll receive a really warm welcome at La Bodega De Garroferal, which is owned by Peter & Helen Arnold .  I know it's good - I've been there...cheers!

HORSE RIDING - CALPE  If you fancy a day in the saddle, grooming a horse, from private lessons to exploring the mountains on a trek within a small group this is for you.

MOUNTAIN WALKS - JALON VALLEY  For a list of walks ranging from different areas, walking times and varied levels of ability,                contact Micheal on his blog.                                                    Remember to wear 'safe' shoes and take plenty of water.             Possibly way too tiring for the kids, suitable for keen teens and adults.

Location:  Follow the signs for Jalon from the N-332 coming from either Calpe or Benissa.

SOL PARK TENNIS CLUB - MORAIRA  Play tennis or just watch from the sidelines. Alternatively you can induldge yourself in a game of crazy golf or play pool. There's a super bar & restaurant just in case you need rest. Open to non members.

Location:  Behind the main car park is a vineyard.  Pass it and keep going, it's on the left.

MORAIRA MARKET  Held weekly every Friday from early in the morning to 2pm. You won't need directions, just go to the coast road and follow the crowd. Alternatively listen out for the Policia Local's whistle.                They'll be attempting to direct the traffic!

Calpe market - Saturday.

Night market - every night in the summer!

BULL RUNNING - MORAIRA MARINA.  Spain is known for their partying, and quite rightly so.  We could learn a lot from these friendly, laid back people!  While you're on holiday try to get down to one of our local fiestas and sample the delights of Paella, Bull Running and dancing into the early hours of the morning!

* Spaniards are experienced in this high risk pastime and 9 times out of 10, they know what they’re doing. NOT FOR THE FAINT-HEARTED.

LA TOMATINA - BUNOL VALENCIA  Crazy as it may seem, this fiesta is a huge success    every year.  Held on the LAST WEDNESDAY of every August.  You'll find hundreds of  half crazed lunatics of all ages having a tomato fight with a vengence.                                                           Click on the above link for more information.

GUADALEST MONASTERY & RESERVOIR A truly stunning and beautiful place to spend the day.  Take your flat shoes as the pathway leading up to the monastery is a cobbled one.  At the top you'll experience the amazing view of the reservoir below.  It's really thirsty work all that walking, so thank goodness for the little bar & restaurant at the view    point.

Location: Follow the signs for Altea on the N-332 and take a right turn for Guadalest.

ALTEA  A picturesque little Spanish village with oodles of charm, lots of little winding streets lined with bars and small restaurants.  At the top of the village you'll find a viewpoint looking across to Benidorm.                On the main road are some classic clothes shops, to get into the village itself just look for the blue dome roof.

GOLF IFACH - GOLF COURSE  Welcomes non members to their 9 hole golf course. The course is open all year round and the terrain is undulating.  With a fabulous bar overlooking the course and the Micheta Restaurant on the lower level with it's swimming pool and cocktail bar is the ideal day out even if you despise golf!
